| WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER BUYING A FRONT LOAD WASHER? Front loaders cost much less to operate and do a better job of cleaning your laundry. I DON’T TRUST THE DOOR SEAL. WHAT IF IT LEAKS? Front load washers are no more likely to develop a leak than top load machines. All front load washers use a minimal amount of water. The fill line is well below the bottom of the door. The only water that touches the door seal is the result of spinning, most of which directs the flow toward the back of the tub. HOW CAN THEY GET MY CLOTHES CLEAN WITHOUT USING AS MUCH WATER? In your top load washing machine, the “wash zone” is where the actual cleaning occurs. This zone is around the base of the agitator. This is the reason spiraled agitators are so popular. The clothes on the top of the load must be sent down to the bottom to be washed. The majority of top load washers only get the clothes on the top down to the wash zone about two times per minute. With a front load machine, the wash zone is still in the bottom portion of the tub. However your clothes are being spun through that area 55-60 times per minute. Therefore your clothes come out cleaner. BUT IF I BUY A FRONT LOAD WASHER, DON’T I HAVE TO USE SPECIAL DETERGENT? No, but it works best. Most detergent brands now offer a “high efficiency” version of their product. These “H.E.” detergents are a more concentrated mixture, that is also designed to create fewer suds, as too many suds interfere with the operation of the machine. If a washer encounters too many suds during the cycle, it will pause and tumble the clothes back and forth in an effort to get rid of the suds. It is alright to use your existing detergent, however the amount used must be adjusted. Typically NO MORE THAN A TABLESPOON is required of regular detergent in a front load washer. Yes, I said “No more than a tablespoon.” See how efficient these machines are? OK, SO I’M USING LESS DETERGENT AND WATER. IS THAT ALL I’M GOING TO SAVE? Absolutely not! ALL front load washers have a larger capacity than their top load counterparts. Therefore you are able to wash larger loads, so you will cut down on the amount of loads that must be done. Less loads = less of your precious time spent doing laundry. Also, because of the large capacity, trips to the laundromat to wash comforters are no longer necessary. ALL front load washers have a higher final spin speed than top loaders. Some spin as fast as 1200 RPM’s for the final spin. These speeds force the clothes against the outside of the drum and force excess water through out the holes in the drum. The drying process has begun before the clothes enter the dryer! This cuts down your drying time dramatically, which means you are wasting less electricity or gas running your dryer. Yet again MORE SAVINGS! Lastly, the most part of your washing machine are the clothes being washed. Because the tumbling action of a front loader is much gentler than the pulling and twisting action of an agitator from a top loader, your clothes can last up to twice as long! Customers with children will especially appreciate spending less on school clothes. Rather than asking yourself "HOW CAN I AFFORD TO SPEND THE MONEY TO BUY A FRONT LOAD WASHER," ask yourself, “HOW CAN I AFFORD NOT TO PURCHASE A FRONT LOAD WASHER?” |
